Traveling from Madrid for a culinary convention in Puerto Vallarta was an exciting opportunity, especially with the chance to showcase my dishes alongside some of the world’s finest chefs. Upon arriving at the airport, I was welcomed by my chauffeur Alejandro, who greeted me with friendly professionalism. He drove me in a comfo rtable and ample suburban vehicle to the stunning St. Regis Punta Mita Resort, a beautiful venue located on a peninsula secluded from the city, where I’d be staying and participating in the convention.
While the resort itself was breathtaking, its distance from the city center meant I needed a reliable way to travel downtown if I were to explore Puerto Vallarta’s culinary offerings and connect with the local gastronomy scene. Alejandro was more than up for the task. Each afternoon, he picked me up from the resort and took me into the city, where he shared his recommendations for authentic dining spots. Thanks to my chauffeur, I was able to experience the local culture and cuisine as though I were a resident, rather than just a visitor.
Alejandro also introduced me to some of Puerto Vallarta’s renowned chefs, allowing me to gain hands-on insights into local dishes. These encounters turned into wonderful networking opportunities, where I connected with individuals who shared my passion for culinary innovation. The knowledge I gained from these experiences left me inspired, and I already had ideas for incorporating some of these techniques into my own menu back in Madrid.
On several occasions, Alejandro even organized brief but insightful visits to specialty markets, where I discovered unique ingredients and spices I’d never encountered before. These small excursions enhanced my understanding of Mexican flavors and brought new depth to my culinary repertoire. Alejandro’s presence and guidance throughout my stay added convenience and enriched my entire experience in Puerto Vallarta.
