I was part of a group of engineers and architects from California Polytechnic State University who traveled last year to Panama for a business visit to the Panama Canal—a marvel of engineering and a vital piece of global trade. The Travel Department at the University had booked a private chauffeur to drive us around during our stay in panama, and truth be told, Roderick’s dedication ensured our itinerary was executed to perfection.

Our first stop was the Miraflores Visitor Center, where we watched ships navigate the locks and explored exhibits detailing the canal’s history and impact. But, beyond the iconic and touristic sights, the most important part of our trip was our meeting with local engineers who had played critical roles in the 2016 Panama Canal Expansion Program. Their insights and firsthand accounts brought the canal’s engineering challenges and achievements to life.
Coordinating our large group with varying schedules was no easy task, but Roderick handled it with remarkable skill. Whether it meant accommodating last-minute changes or ensuring everyone arrived at their respective destinations on time, his adaptability made everything possible.
In just a few days, we learned many interesting facts about the Panama Canal, leaving us impressed by the innovative thinking and collaboration it represents. Roderick’s impeccable service played a major role in making our trip both enjoyable and educational.
