My journey from Houston to Amsterdam for an important business meeting started smoothly, with an uneventful flight despite arriving late in the evening. Clearing customs, I was warmly greeted by Jurriaan, my chauffeur, whose smile and efficient handling of my luggage I appreciated. He provided a pleasant transfer to The Grand Hotel and confirmed that he would also be my chauffeur for my airport transfer in two days. He also mentioned that the agency that had booked the service had pre-approved any other further request from my side, and therefore I should call him if I needed any changes in my schedule. This attention to detail also left a positive impression.
Settling into the hotel, I asked the front desk about the exact location of the office for my meeting the next day. Expecting a short walk, I was surprised to learn that the office was in Almere, a city requiring a 30-minute drive from Amsterdam. Declining the receptionist’s offer to book a taxi,
I decided to call Jurriaan, feeling confident in his service and the comfort of his BMW sedan.

Explaining my situation, Jurriaan responded with reassuring calmness. He asked about my precise meeting time and plans, then assured me he would pick me up in the morning and stay with me until my business was concluded. He even offered a quick tour of Amsterdam if time allowed, along with fine dining recommendations.
Feeling relieved, I enjoyed a restful night’s sleep, confident in Jurriaan’s capable hands. The following day went smoothly; Jurriaan’s punctuality and professionalism ensured everything was on schedule. On our return, as promised, he took a detour to showcase the beautiful streets and canals of Amsterdam.
Back at Schiphol, I sincerely thanked Jurriaan for his adaptability and reliability. His serene smile, now familiar, wished me a safe journey home, with hopes of welcoming me back to Amsterdam soon.
