I traveled from San Antonio to Monterrey to explore the Mexican market’s potential for my clothing business. With Monterrey’s strategic position for trade between the U.S. and Latin America, only 140 miles southwest of Laredo, I aimed to establish connections with local partners who could help distribute my products throughout the country.
Since I would only be in the city for one day and don’t speak Spanish, I booked a private chauffeur, José Jaime, to help maximize my time and make the most of the day.
José Jaime greeted me at the airport early in the morning. He was fluent in English, professional and welcoming. On top of that, he also had an excellent understanding of Monterrey’s business landscape. The day was packed, with four meetings scheduled around the city, each with potential partners eager to help me expand into the Mexican market.
Throughout the morning, José Jaime’s attentiveness and skills made the day flow without interruptions. He handled all the logistics efficiently so I could stay focused on my discussions. Between meetings, he even shared insights on the city’s growth in retail and commerce, reinforcing my excitement about expanding here. By the time we finished the final meeting, I felt confident about the connections I’d made and the potential for my business in Monterrey.
Before heading back to the airport, José Jaime recommended that I try Monterrey’s traditional dish, “cabrito”, a roasted kid goat specialty. He suggested a nearby restaurant known for its authentic flavors, and it was the perfect way to wrap up my visit. After an enjoyable meal, he ensured I arrived at the airport with plenty of time for my return flight. Thanks to José Jaime, I experienced not only a productive but also an enriching day in Monterrey.
