The Harvard graduation ceremony of our daughter Linda, who had been chosen the valedictorian of his class, was a proud moment for our family, and an event we couldn’t miss. So, I travelled with my wife Susan and our youngest, Simon, still in high school but already eyeing MIT. I wanted nothing to disturb us from this special occasion, and we flew from La Guardia airport to Boston, where I had secured a chauffeur for our stay.
Fabio greeted us warmly at Logan airport and drove us to Harvard’s campus in his spacious Lincoln Navigator. The comfort and serenity he provided were precisely what we needed to focus on Linda’s big day. During the journey, Simon observed that the gift bag containing the gold-embroidered pen that we intended to present Linda with after the ceremony had been hit and damaged during the flight. I asked Fabio for help, and he reassured us, saying he knew the perfect place to get a fitting replacement, and that he would make sure we got one while we were at the ceremony.
We had fantastic seats. Linda’s speech on the values of trust and commitment was moving and eloquent. Before the ceremony was over, Fabio was back and produced a beautiful and elegant bag that perfectly matched the occasion and our gift for Linda. Our chauffeur then retreated and waited discreetly in the background until the moment arrived we would need him again.
Later that evening, our celebration continued with a remarkable dinner at O-ya, a Japanese-inspired restaurant in downtown Boston. The following morning, Fabio drove us back to Logan airport. His attentiveness and assistance during such an important event for our family were invaluable, and as I thanked him, I reflected on how well he represented the very values Linda spoke about in his speech.
“Supporting this family’s proudest moment was an honor. Ensuring their day went smoothly, from the ceremony to the celebration, made every effort worthwhile.”
