Last year, after closing an important business deal with whom would later become our Canadian partners, I wanted to give them something special as a gift. When I learned they were great golf fans just as I am, I didn’t think twice and invited them to join me at one of my favourite golf courses, Trump National Doral in Miami.
I flew in from Atlanta three hours before my guests’ flight was due to arrive from Vancouver. When Ramon, our chauffeur for the day, greeted me at the airport, I could already feel I had a promising day ahead.
With time to spare before the rest of the group arrived, I asked Ramon for advice as to where I could buy good quality golf gear. Following his suggestion, we visited Planet Golf, where we procured new sets tailored to each member of our party. Ramon carefully handled my purchases and safely stowed them in the spacious trunk of his Cadillac Escalade, ready for our day on the greens.
Upon the arrival of our guests from Vancouver, their spirits soared at the sight of the gifts awaiting them. Our journey to Trump National Doral was accompanied by lively conversation and anticipation for the day ahead, with Ramón’s attentive service clearing the way for our enjoyment.
As we honed our swings on the golf course, Ramon remained ever-present, catering to our needs with professionalism. And, when the day drew to a close, Ramon drove us back to the airport while we reminisced about the highlights of the day. Once we were back at the airport, I thanked Ramon for his help on such a memorable day, and my Canadian guests left Miami among promises that it wouldn’t be long until we would need Ramon’s service again. They were certainly looking forward to playing a golf rematch against me.
