I was part of a group of Spanish travel agents attending the Caribbean Tourism Exchange in Santo Domingo in 2023. It was an event where we could strengthen business relations and discover new ideas for our clients. To make things much easier during our stay, we had a private chauffeur called Germán with us. He significantly improved our experience, making it more enjoyable.

Germán efficiently coordinated the pickups, collecting the first two groups from Barcelona and Madrid which arrived almost at the same time, before heading back to retrieve the third group arriving from Seville later in the afternoon. Once we were settled at the Dominican Fiesta Hotel, he offered to show us the Colonial Zone, recommending the best places to relax and soak in the city’s atmosphere.
Throughout the event, Germán was always ready to accommodate our needs, taking us to icons like the Faro a Colón lighthouse and the Alcázar de Colón. But he was not only our chauffeur: his knowledge about Santo Domingo added to our trip. Many in our group learned valuable tips about popular locations, restaurants, and cultural spots, which we planned to share with our clients back home.
On the flight back, we unanimously agreed that thanks to chauffeurs as professional and considerate as Germán, the Dominican Republic’s appeal as a top destination will undoubtedly continue to grow.

“I love to make every trip pleasant and memorable, leaving clients with a lasting impression of Dominican hospitality.”
