Last Christmas, to celebrate the end of the year, we decided to travel from Buenos Aires to Santiago de Chile for a special getaway. We were a group of four: me and my wife, and a couple of good friends. The highlight of our trip was a New Year’s Eve celebration at an exclusive venue in Valparaíso, where we wanted to witness the breathtaking fireworks display for which the city is so well known.
Carlos, our chauffeur, picked us up at Santiago airport on December 30th and drove us in his spacious Mercedes minivan to our hotel, where we settled in comfortably before heading out for a tour of the city. He gave us a perfect introduction to Chilean culture and history, and he was attentive to our needs, making sure we felt relaxed throughout the day.
The next morning, Carlos picked us up to drive to Valparaíso for the New Year celebration. The ride was very comfortable, as Carlos had thoughtfully prepared his vehicle with extra cushions and footrests, which were especially appreciated by the ladies who were wearing high heels for the event. The small touches made the journey even more enjoyable.
The New Year’s Eve party exceeded our expectations. The fireworks over Valparaíso’s harbor were simply spectacular. After the festivities, Carlos was ready and waiting to drive us back to Santiago. Despite the late hour, his professionalism never faltered. He ensured we were comfortable on the return journey, and we arrived back at our hotel feeling grateful for his attentive care.
On New Year’s Day, Carlos picked us up for our flight back to Buenos Aires. True to his nature, he arrived with plenty of time to spare, making the final leg of our trip as stress-free as the rest.
