1. Purpose
This protocol is intended to provide clear guidance on the use of child restraint systems in Drivania transportation services, including the types of seats available, general age, weight, and height guidelines, availability conditions depending on the requested vehicle type, and the applicable responsibilities when transporting minors.
Child safety is a priority. For this reason, each request must be reviewed based on the child’s age, weight, height, and size, as well as the local regulations applicable in each city or country.
Drivania will support the client in managing the request and will validate the availability of the required child restraint system whenever necessary, with the objective of ensuring that the service can be provided under appropriate safety and regulatory conditions.
2. Mandatory Adult Accompaniment
All minors must travel accompanied by a responsible adult, whether a parent, legal guardian, or authorized person.
The accompanying adult is responsible for supervising the minor throughout the entire ride and ensuring that the child is properly seated, secured, and using the appropriate child restraint system.
Drivers assigned by Drivania are trained to provide a safe and professional transportation service. Their role is focused on ensuring the proper execution of the transfer, while direct supervision of the minor always remains the responsibility of the accompanying adult.
3. Available Child Restraint Systems
Drivania may provide child restraint systems for children over 1 year old in Sedan, Minivan, and SUV vehicles, always subject to availability and applicable local regulations.
For Business Minibus and Sprinter services, availability must be reviewed in advance with the Operations team, as installation may depend on the specific characteristics of the vehicle and service.

The ages, weights, and heights indicated above are general guidelines. The final selection must always be made based on the child’s actual characteristics and the applicable regulations in the destination where the service is provided.
Child Seat
A Child Seat is a full child restraint system designed for younger children who require additional support and protection during the ride.
- General age guideline: 1 to 7 years old.
- General weight guideline: 20 to 55 lb.
- General height guideline: 33 to 49 in.
This system may include a 5-point harness or the vehicle seat belt with additional adjustment, providing greater stability and side protection. It is recommended for younger children who are not yet able to properly use the vehicle seat belt without an integrated restraint system.
Booster Seat
A Booster Seat is designed for older children who can already use the vehicle seat belt but need additional elevation to ensure the belt is positioned correctly.
- General age guideline: 6 to 12 years old.
- General weight guideline: 49 to 79 lb.
- General height guideline: 49 to 59 in.
This system raises the child to help position the seat belt correctly across the shoulder and pelvis, preventing it from resting on inappropriate areas such as the neck or abdomen.
The Booster Seat may be:
- High-back booster: recommended when additional back support, improved side protection, and better seat belt positioning are needed.
- Backless booster: suitable for older children, provided that the seat belt fits properly and the vehicle allows its safe use.
4. Systems for Infants Under 1 Year Old
As a general policy, Drivania does not provide Group 0/0+ systems or infant car seats for babies under 1 year old.
In these cases, the client must provide an appropriate child restraint system for the infant or submit the request as a special requirement so that the Reservations team can review and confirm whether availability is possible.
This request should be considered pending until express validation is received from the corresponding team.
5. Availability by Vehicle Type
Child restraint systems may be used, subject to availability and local regulations, in the following vehicle types:
- Sedan.
- Minivan.
- SUV.
In these vehicles, child restraint systems such as Child Seats or Booster Seats may be installed depending on the child’s characteristics, the type of service, and the vehicle configuration.
Business Minibus and Sprinter
For Business Minibus and Sprinter services, availability of child restraint systems must be reviewed in advance with the Operations team.
The installation of a Child Seat or Booster Seat in this type of vehicle may not always be possible, so the service will be subject to prior review and confirmation.
6. Request Policy
To ensure proper service planning, the client must inform Drivania in advance if they are traveling with minors and require a child restraint system.
The client must provide the child’s age, weight, and height so the request can be properly assessed. In case of doubt, the Reservations team may assist in identifying the most suitable system, always taking into account that the final selection must comply with applicable local regulations.
Confirmation of the child restraint system will be subject to availability, vehicle type, destination, and current legislation.
7. Documentation and Legal Requirements
The accompanying adult must carry any documentation required for the transportation of the minor, such as identification documents, authorizations, permits, or any additional documentation required by the competent authorities.
This is especially important for international transfers, intercity services, airport transfers, or border crossings.
Obtaining and presenting the necessary documentation is always the responsibility of the client or the adult responsible for the minor.
8. Supervision of the Minor During the Service
Supervision of the minor during the ride always remains the responsibility of the accompanying adult.
The responsible adult must:
- Supervise the minor throughout the entire ride.
- Ensure that the minor uses the child restraint system correctly.
- Check that the seat belt or harness is properly adjusted.
- Ensure that the minor complies with safety rules inside the vehicle.
- Verify that the system used is appropriate based on the child’s age, weight, height, and applicable local regulations.
The driver will ensure the proper provision of the transportation service in accordance with Drivania’s safety and professional standards.
9. Minimum Conditions for Service Provision
For safety and regulatory compliance reasons, the service may not be initiated if the minimum conditions required for the safe transportation of the minor are not met.
This may apply, among other situations, if an appropriate child restraint system is not available, if the minor is not accompanied by a responsible adult, if required documentation is missing, or if the conditions of the transfer do not comply with applicable legal regulations.
In these cases, Drivania will always prioritize the safety of the minor and compliance with current regulations.

Drivania facilitates the management and validation of the child restraint system available for the service, always in accordance with the vehicle type, destination, and applicable regulations.
The correct selection, installation, supervision, and use of the child restraint system during the ride remain the responsibility of the accompanying adult, who must ensure that the minor travels under appropriate safety conditions throughout the entire service.
