The Smart City Expo World Congress will take place November 17-19 at the Gran Vía de Hospitalet de Llobregat venue. Organized by Fira de Barcelona, it is one of the most important smart city events in the world.
Ecofleet Meeting Point took place last week, on November 12, at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
In line with our commitment to innovation and supporting sustainable mobility, we are present at both events.
Our last post discussed a few sustainability initiatives, and this post will focus on two of the events that promote sustainable cities, in which transportation plays an essential role.
Importance of events like the Smart City Expo
These two events are fundamental for many reasons. They bring together the latest innovations in sustainability as well as the good practices that are being carried out in this field.
The Smart City Expo offers conferences with global industry leaders as well as presentations with real cases. It is a great networking opportunity for businesses that are already working on sustainable cities as well as for entities that are searching for opportunities in this growing industry.
More than 200 companiesand over 150 cities will participate in this year’s edition. The event offers a wide array of countless activities. One is the Smart City Plaza, which is a smart city equipped with the industry’s most popular solutions. The project will allow visitors to experience first-hand the advances that these solutions propose.
The congress will also organize an Open Innovation Marketplace to present innovative, creative, and technological ideas.
Another initiative is Towards 0 Waste, which is a set of proposals aimed at minimizing the waste that is generated duringthe three days of the event.
Ecofleet Meeting Point, which is organized by the Asociación Española de Gestores de Flotas de Automóviles (AEGFA, the Spanish Association of Automobile Fleet Managers), brought together companies interested in promoting a mobility concept that is less contaminating. The aim is to address the needs of cities in a clean manner and also at a lower cost.
Attendees discovered the latest technological innovations and public policies on mobility and transportation, and had the chance to test drive sustainable vehicles.
The Circuit de Barcelona – Catalunya was the ideal setting for the event. It is the perfect test track for discovering local and international industry’s trends in person.
