Private Chauffeur Transportation focuses on guaranteeing there are no incidences. There are different ways to travel by car, depending on the needs and tastes of the passenger. One that stands out among those who require maximum precision is Private Chauffeur services. Drivania is a company dedicated to organizing business and luxury ground transportation since its foundation 21 years ago.
Drivania provides chauffeur services to Travel Managers, travel agencies, and PAs among others. Over the years they have gathered a fleet of more than 3,000 chauffeurs in over 600 cities in 190 countries. The company trains them to use its own technology: an App that seeks to achieve “absolute control” of the service, from the moment the chauffeurs are on their way to the pick-up location, through the moment the passenger boards the vehicle, to the end of the service.
These are carefully planned transfers aimed mainly to corporate and business travelers. A trip from the airport to the city center is more expensive than a taxi, but in exchange it offers full control from beginning to end. There is an even more premium service for those customers who need a chauffeur at their disposal for a specific time.
Drivania’s clients generally work for people with a very high profile, people in senior management positions and CEOs. Sometimes well-known actors, singers or politicians. Some other times, just anonymous people with very high purchasing power. All of them demand “maximum discretion, confidentiality, and trustworthiness”. In fact, sometimes they request that the chauffeur does not speak a certain language, so that he or she does not understand the conversations that will be held inside the vehicle during the trip.
The company is currently at pre-pandemic service levels. During the COVID19 lockdown months, time was used to further improve internal processes.
One of the chauffeurs Drivania works with in New York is Ronald Peña. Of Colombian origin, he has been in the business for 13 years and has already worked 11 years for Drivania. He chose the transport sector as a vocation: he is a sociable person who values independence at work. “I am my own boss,” he assures. “I decide how many hours a day I put in, usually between 10 and 12,” for which he says he earns a salary significantly higher than the New York average. “We have confidentiality contracts that prevent us from talking about salaries,” he remarks.
“The client asks you to be professional and discreet. We are trained not to divulge information,” says the chauffeur. “We never initiate the conversation, beyond the greeting, if the client does not take the initiative.”
Compared to a taxi service, Private Chauffeur companies make their reservations in advance, not on demand. Private Chauffeurs don’t go out on the street to look for customers. Rather, they can’t leave the garage unless they have a reservation. And, ultimately, their public is not the one that cab drivers dispute with platforms such as Uber or Cabify.
